Canada Goose Opens Beijing Store

Toronto-based Canada Goose announced that after a previous delay, the company has opened its new flagship store in Beijing. The store, which is its first in mainland China, was delayed since mid-December. After citing construction work, the store opened over the weekend.

Upon its official opening, a queue of shoppers waited an hour or more to shop the new store. This came despite mounting tensions between China and Canada and calls by some to boycott the shop.

According to Financial Post, this helped boost the company’s shares, which had dropped about 37 percent since the political strains first surfaced.
