David Yurman (New York) named Glen Senk as its new ceo, reports Crain’s. Senk resigned from his position of ceo at Urban Outfitters Inc. on Tuesday.

Senk is also expected to take an ownership stake in the privately held firm. The company recently opened a 2000-square-foot flagship on Madison Avenue. Retail insiders speculate that the brand may soon offer home products and accessories.

At Urban Outfitters, Senk will be succeeded by Richard Hayne, the company’s founder and president, reports Women's Wear Daily. Senk has been credited with increasing Anthropologie and Urban’s sales volume, rolling out new stores and launching bridal line BHLDN.

“Glen grew these brands during a time when retailing was different than today,” says Janet Kloppenburg of JJK Research, in a WWD article. “Today, it’s become a real chore and he may have thought that it’s a challenge he didn’t want to taken on.”
