JCPenney Names New Chairman

Thomas Engibous to succeed Myron Ullman

JCPenney Co. Inc. (Plano, Texas) selected board member Thomas J. Engibous to become chairman by the end of January, succeeding Myron E. Ullman III, the former ceo and chairman, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Penney’s named Engibous to its board in 1999. He has served as presiding director and lead independent director. Engibous was president and chief executive of Texas Instruments Inc. from 1996 through 2004.

“Important work is underway at JCPenney to transform the company by delivering a new level of innovation, creativity and excitement to customers,” Engibous told the WSJ.
