Hilton Worldwide (McLean, Va.) has opened its first Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Southeast Asia. The 540-guest room, 34-story Doubletree by Hilton is located in Malaysia’s capital city within Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle district, just northeast of KL City Centre.

“The opening of the Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur represents an important brand milestone for our worldwide collection of more than 230 hotels and resorts,” says Rob Palleschi, global head, Doubletree by Hilton Hotels. “This hotel in the heart of one of Southeast Asia’s most important cities demonstrates the refreshing sense of contemporary style and personalized service Doubletree by Hilton continues to pursue and present to the world’s travelers, wherever they stay with us.”

Doubletree by Hilton has been on an expansion track since 2008, including full-service hotels and resorts in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Current confirmed and signed development deals will increase the hotel brand’s presence to more than 25 countries within the next two years.

The Kuala Lumpur hotel is owned by MGPA Asia Fund II, an independently managed private equity real estate investment advisory company. The integrated property, called The Intermark, also includes a retail podium and a grade A office tower.
