Dreams Sells 171 Stores to Sun Capital

The private equity firm Sun Capital Partners purchased Dreams (Loudwater, England), a bed and furniture retailer, today, according to Reuters. Sun Capital Partners acquired the company’s headquarters building, manufacturing facilities and 171 of its 266 stores. Administrators are seeking buyers for the remaining 95 stores, which will remain open. This sale is the second acquisition of Dreams; the company was purchased in 2008 by another private equity firm, Exponent, Reuters reports.
