Coming off yet another year of strong growth, Dutch Bros Inc. (Tempe, Ariz.) plans to continue expanding its physical footprint with 181 new locales in 2026. Executives from the drive-through coffee chain made that disclosure in their conference call with stock analysts to discuss its year-end 2025 results, which saw the business’ revenues grow by nearly 30% and the opening of 154 added stores.

Dutch Bros has almost doubled its footprint since 2022, now having a total of 1136 locales in 25 states. It plans to almost double again by 2029, by achieving a fleet of 2029 at the end of that year.

In its coverage of the analysts’ call, ModernRetail noted that CEO Christine Barone said that Dutch Bros’ plans include testing different formats, including walk-up stores. Barone was also happy with the debut of a Dutch Bros walk-up shop that opened in downtown Los Angeles late last year, which had three times the system’s average in order-ahead transactions.

“This shop provides a valuable platform for insights into urban dense corridors where drive-throughs are harder to build,” Barone said.

Executive also said they planned to expand a food menu it piloted last year to more locations. Those offerings include chorizo wraps and maple waffles.

Founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, Dutch Bros began with a double-head espresso machine and a pushcart in Grants Pass, Ore. (Its headquarters has since moved to Arizona.)
