Ed Cranston Dies in Florida

Visual “patriarch” was 80

Ed Cranston, one of the true icons of the visual merchandising industry, died last week in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was 80.

Cranston, who had homes in both Boynton Beach and New York, owned E.T. Visuals Inc., long-time designer and manufacturer of couture mannequins, fixturing and displays.

Born in 1923 in Philadelphia, Cranston graduated from the Philadelphia School of Arts and performed theatrically when he was young. He was an honorary member of Philadelphia’s Old Academy Players.

He is survived by Richard Britton and several cousins, neices and nephews.
