Steven Madden opens a new store in Virginia

Steven Madden Ltd., the Long Island City, N.Y.-based designer andmarketer of fashion footwear, has opened a new retail store in McLean,Va. The 1400-square-foot store is located in Tyson's Corner Center, oneof Northern Virginia's most affluent and fastest growing markets.

The store is the second venture in Virginia and the 69th store in theUnited States. The store design incorporates the same signature stylethe company has used in its other retail settings. The location carriesthe Steve Madden women's collection, accessories and licensed products,in addition to men's and children's footwear.

According to Mark Jankowski, the newly appointed president of retail,”Northern Virginia is one of the fastest growing regions in the country,and we are thrilled to be opening a store in the premier retail venue inthe area.”

Steven Madden shoes are sold through its retail stores, departmentstores, apparel and footwear specialty stores and online. The companyhas several licenses for the Steve Madden and Stevies brands, includingouterwear, leather sportswear, eyewear, hosiery, watches, handbags andbelts. It also owns and operates two retail stores under the David Aaronbrand and is the licensee for l.e.i. footwear.
