Specialty retailer Sharper Image Corp. (San Francisco) reported that same-store sales for the month ended June 30 increased 15 percent and that total sales for the period rose 28 percent.

“We are enjoying great sales momentum in all channels and across a wide range of products,” says Richard Thalheimer, founder, chairman and ceo.

Thalheimer also said Sharper Image is continuing its aggressive new-store opening plans. “In June, we opened three new locations: in the Plaza de Oro in Encino, Calif.; at Crossroads Commons in Las Vegas; and in the Prudential Center in Boston,” he says. “We expect to open 25 new stores this fiscal year, as excellent real-estate opportunities continue to present themselves.”

Sharper Image, which sells a variety of high-tech gadgets and luxury items for the home and office, currently operates about 125 stores in the U.S.
