adidas Names New Head of Sales; PlayNetwork Merges with Crows Nest Entertainment; DMS Store Fixtures Changes its Name

Management Changes:

adidas America (Portland, Ore.) has promoted Russ Hopcus to senior vp, sales.

Horst Design Intl. (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) has hired Kenneth Fluddy as a project manager.

Benchmark (Cincinnati brand and design consultancy) has hired Wendy Hunt as director, client services — beauty & fashion.

Architectural Construction Services (ACS, Costa Mesa, Calif.) has added the following at its Atlanta regional office: Drew Miner, store planner, and Timothy Black, project manager.

The Kay Cos. Inc. (Newton, Mass., construction and construction management firm) has promoted Joseph Polizzotti to business development manager.


Associations:

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA, New York) announced that Alan Lewis has assumed the role of president for 2005-2006. Lewis is president of The New England College of Optometry. The society also said Kevin Flynn, its newly elected senior vp, will assume the presidency for the 2006-2007 year. Flynn is a vp with Kiku Obata & Co. (St. Louis).

PlayNetwork Inc. (Redmond, Wash., provider of customized music programming and audio/video systems for retail, restaurant and hospitality locations) has merged with Crows Nest Entertainment Inc. (CNE, Seattle digital signage and systems integration company). With the merger, PlayNetwork executive chairman Lon Troxel takes over as ceo from Adam Brotman, who will concentrate on developing a new PlayNetwork spin-off company focused on the consumer music market. CNE's Jim Wessels joins PlayNetwork as executive vp, operations, and CNE's Tom Morton has been named PlayNetwork's senior vp, finance and business affairs. Also, Walt Tatum has joined the company as executive vp.

Elvis Presley Enterprises Inc. (Memphis, Tenn., seller of licensed and trademarked Elvis products) has signed eFashion Solutions LLC (Secaucus, N.J. e-commerce provider) to manage its web retailing in 120 countries.

McMillan Group (Westport, Conn., environmental design and project management firm) has teamed with National Geographic, AEG Exhibitions, Arts and Exhibitions Intl. and the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities to create the traveling “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” exhibition. The display, which includes 11 galleries and a gift shop, will appear in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., during its 27-month tour.
