The Gymboree Corp. (San Francisco) has announced a 5 percent increase in net sales for its fourth quarter ended Jan. 29, 2005.

Same-store sales were flat in the quarter. It suffered a $2.1 million net loss in the three-month period compared to net income of $11.2 million a year ago. The net loss for the quarter includes a non-cash charge of $4.4 million, before income taxes, related to lease termination charges for the company’s previous headquarters in Burlingame, Calif.

For the full fiscal year, net sales increased 8 percent and same-store sales increased 2 percent.
