London department store deploys plasma screen system

Published

on

Harrods, the London department store, has installed the first units of a storewide digital signage system, using large plasma displays in key in-store positions.

Currently, 28 units of 50- and 60-inch screens are deployed alongside escalators and in the perfume and fashion departments. There will eventually be more than 100 screens.

The system, driven by technology from Remote Media, London-based audio, visual and interactive provider, includes a media player, content server, playlist creator and connectivity technology.

Remote has provided technology, in London, for the Thomas Cook travel agency in Fleet Street and Bonhams auctioneer in Bond Street.
