More than a year and half after making its return to Metro Detroit, high-end furniture retailer Scott Shuptrine Interiors is expanding, reports The Detroit News.

Scott Shuptrine Interiors, a division of Art Van Furniture, announced it will open a special design lab inside its Art Van store in Novi, Mich. later this month and open a standalone gallery on in Grosse Pointe, Mich. in March, in response to a growing demand for high-end home furnishings.

The company, which was founded in 1927 and bought by Art Van in 1987, also operates a flagship gallery in Royal Oak, Mich. and showrooms inside Art Van Furniture in Grand Rapids, Mich. and Petoskey, Mich. It once had three freestanding stores in the 1980s that were shut down for economic reasons in 2002. Art Van revived the brand with a store-within-a-store concept in 2010.
