Inspiration is everywhere, especially at A.R.E.’s New York Retail Design Collective, December 4-6, 2013, where store designers and visual merchandisers gather to network and view the latest trends and products.

In addition to the industry’s top showrooms located throughout Manhattan, and temporary showrooms at 7 W. 34th Street, it’s an opportunity to soak up the sights and sounds of New York retail from Fifth Avenue and SoHo to Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood. The best of the Big Apple’s famous holiday windows will be on display including Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Tiffany, Barneys and many more. And don’t forget about the PAVE Gala, an opportunity to support our industry through education, while sharing a great evening with colleagues and friends.

Fifth Avenue is a very special retail destination throughout the year. In December, it becomes magical. Join VMSD’s RDC discussion “Fifth Avenue: Retail’s Window to the World,” Friday, December 6th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. This venerable retail corridor, located in the heart of New York, remains the home of many great stores, including Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany and Saks Fifth Avenue. While Fifth Avenue has undergone many changes, it maintains its position as one of the most elegant addresses in New York and one of the grandest retail districts in the world.

This session will explore the visual merchandising and design approaches of established New York retailers and the new fast-fashion retailers who view their new Manhattan stores as more than a window to Fifth Avenue, but rather as a “window to the world.” A panel of industry professionals moderated by Eric Feigenbaum, New York editor, VMSD, and chair, visual merchandising, LIM College, will include Tom Beebe, vp, creative services, W Diamond Group; Harry Cunningham, svp, visual merchandising and store design, Saks Fifth Avenue; and Adrienne Parks, senior visual manager, Manhattan flagship, Tommy Bahama.
