JCPenney Names Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer

JCPenney (Plano, Texas) recently announced the appointment of Keith Melker as the department store’s Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer, according to a company press release. In this role, which became effective Feb. 1, Melker will focus on supporting digital growth, exploring new partnerships, driving consumer traffic, inventory management and evolving the company’s delivery models.

JCPenney Chief Executive Officer Marc Rosen says, “As we continue our transformation journey into 2023, we’re laser-focused on achieving our goals to better serve our customers as they turn to JCPenney for style and value.”

Melker, who holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School, comes to JCPenney from Wehner Multifamily, a Texas-based property management company, where he most recently served as CEO. He also was formerly the Chief Strategy Officer for the Kimberly-Clark Corp.

Katie Mullen will continue at JCPenney as its Chief Digital Officer.
