JCPenney Co. (Plano, Texas) and fast-fashion retailer Mango (Barcelona) have announced a partnership whereby the department store chain will be the exclusive retailer for Mango’s “MNG by Mango” brand in the U.S.

The launch will take place next year in up to 75 JCPenney stores and online and will grow to include 600 stores. Mango operates 12 locations in the U.S. and more than 13000 stores worldwide.

MNG will be JCPenney’s largest contemporary brand and will include a full lifestyle offering of career and casual sportswear, as well as accessories. The line will be presented in a specialty shop within JCPenney stores and will be the centerpiece of a newly designed contemporary area.

“MNG by Mango brings a European runway aesthetic with mass appeal to JCPenney through a unique partnership that capitalizes on the strengths of each of our businesses to deliver clear benefits,” says Liz Sweney, executive vp and general merchandise manager of women’s apparel at JCPenney.
