A jewelry store in Parma, OH, was damaged when it was struck by a car.

Independence police had been chasing the car, which hit Koorey’s Jewelry at around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 24, WJW reported. Police said they had halted the chase prior to the crash happening, and they did not see the incident.

Before the crash, the car had driven through yards and a parking lot, then flipped onto its roof. The car hit a wall of the jewelry store and caused foundation damage, police said.

Inside the store, a wall reportedly caved and destroyed the showroom.

Authorities say the car had been stolen in a carjacking two days prior to the jewelry store incident, according to WJW. During the chase, it reached speeds of 100 miles per hour.

Officers pulled the driver from the wreckage and he was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment, WJW reported.
