Joe Fresh Opens on Fifth Avenue … and More Industry News

MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Four new executives have joined Charming Charlie (Houston): Judi Langley, executive vp and chief merchandising officer; John Hnanicek, senior vp and chief information officer; Melissa Whitehead, senior vp of store operations; and Robin Beighle, store operations director.

Big Red Rooster (Columbus, Ohio) is expanding its architectural services with the addition of four CAD technicians at its Phoenix office – Danny Gonzales, Landon Newingham, Stephanie Piegzik and Michael Stainton. The company also added six employees at its Columbus, Ohio, and Atlanta offices.

Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. (Canton, Mass.) has named Ginger Gregory chief human resources officer, according to Restaurant News. Gregory will be responsible for employee recruitment, training and benefits for employees at the parent company of the Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins restaurants.

International design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman (New York) hired John Clifford and Navid Maqami as principals. Both professionals bring more than 25 years of experience in retail planning and design to the company.

STORE OPENING
Parent company Loblaw Companies Ltd. (Brampton, Ont.) brings its fast-fashion retail brand Joe Fresh to New York with the opening of a two-floor flagship on Fifth Avenue and 43rd Street last week. The brand was launched in Canada’s Loblaw supermarkets in 2006.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
Kramer Design Group (New York) added an “It’s all about…” design blog to the firm’s redesigned website. The blog includes an interactive map, which highlights the design firm’s projects worldwide.

Digital printing company EFI (Foster City, Calif.) has acquired NanoPrint LLC, a miniaturization company. Current ceo Edward Minimi will step down and Michael Smolen will take on the roll as the new general manager of EFI Miniature Printing in American Samoa, where the company is based.
