Jones New York (New York) announced it plans to close all 37 of its Canada stores and seek creditor protection.

In court filings this week, the women's clothing chain said it is unable to pay its bills and will liquidate its holdings, including all merchandise, reports CBC News.

Grafton Fraser Inc. bought the company in 2015 but hasn’t been able to keep the company afloat in a tough retail environment.

The 37 stores employ 300 workers.
