Barbara LaMonica will team with long-time colleague Bruce Baas

Veteran fashion executives Barbara LaMonica and Bruce Baas have formed a luxury fashion consulting business called LaMonica-Baas Group, specializing in retail strategy, brand development, business development and global expansion.

According to a report in Women’s Wear Daily, they plan to work with both wholesalers and retailers.

The two were at Bergdorf Goodman (New York) together, where LaMonica was svp of the women’s designer, contemporary, private label and intimate apparel divisions, and Baas was vp and dmm of the women’s designer sportswear, couture and men’s divisions.

They both later went to Michael Kors (New York), where LaMonica was president from 1998 to 2003 and Baas was vp of women’s collection and global retail.
