Liz Claiborne Explores Mexx Sale

Private-equity firm acquisition expected to bring $100 million

Liz Claiborne Inc. (New York), which owns fashion brands Juicy Couture and Kate Spade, is in the works to sell its Mexx apparel brand to a private-equity firm, according to sources in a Bloomberg News article.

Leonard Green & Partners, Sun Capital and Golden Gate Capital are among the firms that have explored an acquisition of Mexx.

Final bids are due within a few weeks with a sale expected to be completed in September, reports Bloomberg.
