Luxury retailer LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (Paris) reported a 25 percent increase in first quarter 2012 revenue. Organic revenue growth was up 14 percent compared to the same period in 2011.

The group says fast growth in Asia and the U.S. contributed to the strong results. Among its business groups, sales of fashion and leather goods experienced double-digit growth of 12 percent, while its wines and spirits business and perfumes and cosmetics saw an acceleration in revenue of 16 percent and 9 percent respectively.

During the quarter, LVMH opened its first Louis Vuitton Maison in Italy in a mythical cinema theater in Rome. Fendi continued the renovation of its store network, while Céline recorded strong revenue growth due to the success of its collections.
