Nautica Enterprises Inc. (New York) has named Christopher Heyn president of Nautica Intl. Inc., its men's sportswear division.

Heyn succeeds Don Witkowski, who left last month to join Michael Kors LLC, and will report to chairman, president and ceo Harvey Sanders.

“Chris has proven to be a valuable asset to the company and we are always happy to promote from within our organization,” says Sanders. “He brings strong operations, management, merchandising and marketing skills, as demonstrated throughout his extensive career in men's apparel, and we look forward to benefiting further from his contributions.”

Heyn most recently served as president of Nautica Apparel Inc., the global brand licensing subsidiary. Prior to that post, he was senior vp, global merchandising group at the National Basketball Association, and earlier served as president of menswear marketing at Kellwood Corp.

During his career, Heyn has also held positions as president and chief executive of Salant Menswear Group; president of C.F. Hathaway, a division of Warnaco Corp.; and executive vp of Christian Dior Sportswear.
