Meijer Adds Marketplace in Chicago

Marks grocery chain’s 14th store in city

Meijer (Walker, Mich.) has opened a 90,000-square-foot Marketplace concept store in Chicago’s Melrose Park neighborhood.

The smaller-format store is half the size of Meijer's largest supercenters.

In the general merchandise area, the Meijer Marketplace features key categories, including electronics, seasonal items, toys, home, kitchen and bath items and a pet department. The Chicago location also includes a targeted assortment of Hispanic products.
