Grocery retailer Meijer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) opened five supercenters last week in the Midwest, according to a press release. The stores are located in Brimfield, Ohio; Lorain, Ohio; Manitowoc, Wisc.; Sycamore, Ill.; and Bad Axe, Mich.

"These new stores reinforce our ongoing commitment to serving the needs of communities at a time when everyone is looking for a one-stop shopping experience," said President and CEO Rick Keyes. "We look forward to providing our customers with fresh options and innovative ways to shop so they can get the items they need while keeping their families safe."

The 159,000-sq.-ft. stores will offer popular digital shopping solutions like Shop & Scan, which allows customers to scan and bag products via the mobile app as they add them to the cart, minimizing time spent at checkout.
