(PRESS RELEASE) PALATINE, IL — The recent ASID Carolina’s 2022 Annual Meeting in Charleston, South Carolina, offered a full and timely menu of continuing education sessions and networking events, along with the association’s 2022 Excellence in Design award presentation. Among the new CEU course lineup this year was Staying in Front of Customers with Social Media During and After COVID-19 which was presented by Jim Nowakowski.

“I initially created this course when the pandemic hit because [like everything else] COVID-19 threw a wrench into everyone’s existing content,” said Nowakowski. “Everyone is still recovering and, frankly, no matter what anyone tells you, things will never be the same. That’s the goal: adjusting to what is, not what was.”

One point emphasized throughout the CEU was that while the basics of marketing do not change, technologies do – and the key to effective marketing is mapping out a strategy for which technologies to use and when. Known for his hands-on, interactive presentation style which has previously been featured in NKBA’s Voices of the Industry at KBIS, Nowakowski practices what he preaches: his entire CEU course offering for designers, showroom consultants, architects and manufacturers was completely revamped during COVID and is now easily accessible online.

“This was a terrific session,” Nowakowski said. “It was wonderful to engage with this group – interior designers always bring a unique perspective to any discussion, and especially when it comes to marketing strategies.” Always keen to draw audiences into a dialogue, Nowakowski used Starbuck gift cards to encourage participation throughout the one-hour presentation as he peppered attendees with “pop” questions on their social media usage to drive home key points such as why a designer’s website is more important than Facebook or Instagram and how to use it as a media hub in order to attract (and own) more eyeballs.

A copy of the presentation Staying in Front of Customers with Social Media During and After COVID-19 is available by emailing to bernie@interlinegroup.com. For designers who missed the presentation during the ASID Carolina’s meeting, the course is now available at interlinegroup.com/ceuscourses/c6/course.php.
