Favorable customer response to New York & Co.’s test outlet stores launched last year has opened the way for a major rollout. The specialty apparel retailer expects to add 20 to 25 outlets this fiscal year. The new concept will offer apparel and accessories, which can also be found at the company’s core 592 retail stores. Long-term plans include developing lines of merchandise manufactured exclusively for the outlets

In remarks at industry conferences earlier this month, company officials predicted the stores would achieve “four-wall profitability within their first full year of operation.”
