New York 'Links' Up With U.K. Jeweler

Madison Avenue opening could be first in 30-store U.S. chain

Links of London has made its first U.S. pilgrimage, after 10 years of retailing, landing on New York's 54th Street and Madison Avenue. If all goes well for the purveyor of silver jewelry, accessories and gifts, this could be the first of 25 to 30 American units.

The new 1000-square-foot store carries about 1100 products. Most of the offering — described as contemporary but not trendy — is priced under $1500.

Links has more than a dozen other stores worldwide; seven of these are in London, two in the Middle East, two in Hong Kong, and one in Singapore. Another store is expected to open in Hamburg, Germany, in September.
