C-store retailer names new coo

7-Eleven Inc. (Dallas) has named Gary Rose as coo.

Rose, who will also hold the title of executive vp, will be responsible for the execution of the company’s strategy at the store level and charting the course for growth and development throughout North America. Reporting to Rose will be field operations, merchandising, gasoline and all operations support departments, which includes national franchise, development (real estate and construction), loss prevention (security and inventory control), maintenance, operations development and procurement.

Rose joined 7-Eleven in 1968 and has held a number of executive-level positions, such as vp of gasoline and environmental services; vp of merchandising for non-foods; senior vp of merchandising and development; and executive vp of field operations. During his tenure as head of merchandising and operations, 7-Eleven has posted 30 consecutive quarters of same-store sales increases in the U.S.
