MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Custom millwork and furniture manufacturer idX Corp. (St. Louis) has hired Jeff Ouyang as its vp of business development for Asia-Pacific. Ouyang will be based in the company’s headquarters near Shanghai and has a background in fixture design and engineering.

Fitch (Columbus, Ohio) has added Robert Pettit, client services director, North America and Joe Gilbride, finance director, North America to its management team.

MaxLite (West Caldwell, N.J.) has named Boyd Corbett vp of sales, central region. Corbett will manage MaxLite sales in 17 states in his new position, and previously worked for Toshiba America Lighting Company, Belfer Group Inc. and Lightology Inc.

Pointsmith, a Houston-based in-store marketing company, has hired Cami Boyett as its senior art director. Boyett will design in-store marketing and promotional materials in her new role. She has 15 years of experience as a graphic designer.

Schreder Lighting U.S. (Addison, Ill.) is announcing the addition of Daniel Horvath as a sales engineer.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
The Planning and Visual Education Partnership is accepting nominations for its 6th annual Rising Star Award, which recognizes young designers, visual merchandisers, store planners, and project managers who are proven visionaries, innovators, and leaders among peers. The deadline for nominations is October 12.

Marlite (Dover, Ohio), a manufacturer of retail merchandising and designer wall systems, has acquiredGlobal Design Solutions (Miami), a store design and branding firm. GDS was moved to Marlite’s Miami offices; the company recently added 25,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space.

The Atlanta-based branding and marketing firm (r)evolution was acquired by Prophet (San Francisco), which is also a branding and marketing consultancy. Prophet says the move strengthens its presence in the southeastern U.S.
