New York-based brand agency CBX named Marco Marcellini as creative director in the retail environments group. Marco, a native of Florence, Italy, brings over 12 years of experience as an architect and interior designer working for such firms as Peter Marino Architect, I.M. PEI at PEI Partnership Architects and Gabellini Associates.

Chute Gerdeman (Columbus, Ohio) has promoted two staff members and hired a new designer. Elaine Evans has been promoted to creative director and materials and trend specialist Katie Clements has been promoted to senior designer. In addition, Kate Steinmeyer has joined Chute Gerdeman as environments designer.

Creative branding and design firm Pompei A.D. (New York) named Vanessa Rose chief marketing officer. Previously, Rose was executive director of business development. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s current expansion in the U.S., as well as globally in Dubai and throughout Asia.

Storeax, a production management company specializing in retail, has launched in Amsterdam. The company, which focuses on 2- and 3-D production, p-o-s and window displays, retail fixtures and build-outs of stores and exhibits, was founded by Arnoud Oostenbroek. Storeage cofounders Jason Steere and Leendert Tange are board members of Storeax.

Architecture firm CMA has relocated its Dallas office. The phone and fax remain the same. The new address is 6060 North Central Expressway, Suite 850, Dallas, TX 75206-5294.

Katy, Texas-based Pointsmith, an at-store p-o-p management company, has entered into a supplier partnership agreement with Houston-based Mattress Firm Inc. to provide strategic marketing and project management support for store level and marketing initiatives for owned stores and other sales channels.

Papa John’s Intl. Inc. (Louisville, Ky.) has acquired 56 franchised Papa John’s restaurants in the Denver and Minneapolis markets. After the immediate sale of six of the Denver restaurants, the transaction results in the net acquisition of 50 restaurants, including 21 in Denver and 29 in Minneapolis, for $5.1 million.

Serigraph Inc. (West Bend, Wis.) received five Best of Category Awards in the 2012 Graphics Excellence Awards, a tri-state regional print competition hosted by the Great Lakes Graphics Association. The firm’s awards came in five categories, including Special Innovation, Point-of-Purchase Materials, Specialty Inks or Coatings, Other Specialty Finishing Techniques and Posters.

Invista (Newport Coast, Calif.) presented its Antron Product Innovation Awards to Masland Contract, Tandus Flooring and Bentley Prince Street during a gala ceremony at The Resort at Pelican Hill, in Newport Coast, Calif. Masland Contract received the Broadloom Gold award for “Emblem,” and Tandus Flooring earned the Modular Gold award for “Atmosphere.” Bentley Prince Street was a Broadloom Silver Winner and Modular Silver Winner for its Oscar Worthy product.
