OfficeMax, Inc. (Shaker Heights, Ohio) has announced plans to open up to six additional superstores in Puerto Rico over the next two years.

The nation's third-largest business-supplies retailer, with nearly 1000 stores, currently operates eight stores throughout the island, having opened its first store there in 1995.

OfficeMax's new PowerMax distribution system includes a delivery center in Puerto Rico.
