Rite Aid Sales Down for July

Front-end and pharmacy sales miss the mark

Rite Aid Corp. (Camp Hill, Pa.) says its same-store sales for the four weeks ended July 24, dropped 1.1 percent. July front-end same stores sales decreased 0.5 percent while pharmacy same store sales were 1.4 percent lower compared to a year ago.

The company’s total drugstore sales for the four-week period decreased 2.2 percent. Year-to-date sales show the company same-stores sales are down 1.3 percent over the prior-year period.

Rite Aid operates 4751 stores.
