Jennifer de Winter, who resigned as chief merchant for Saks Fifth Avenue (New York) earlier this month, has joined the staff at Tiffany & Co. (New York), according to Women’s Wear Daily. The executive will become the jeweler’s senior vp, North America effective March 1. North America is Tiffany & Co.'s largest region with 106 stores, including the Fifth Avenue flagship.

Saks is still seeking a successor to de Winter, who reported to company president Marigay McKee. In recent years, de Winter assisted McKee in reshaping Saks’ buying and fashion direction. All Saks general merchandise managers reported to de Winter.

A 20-year veteran, de Winter also served in the executive vp and director of stores positions. Earlier in her career, de Winter was Saks’ general merchandise manager of jewelry, shoes, intimate apparel, hosiery and handbags.
