Saks Fifth Avenue, New York-based division of Saks Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.), will launch its fourth annual shopping weekend this week to benefit Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. It will be partnering with The Council of Fashion Designers of America (whose charitable initiative Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is).

Mercedes-Benz USA, the national sponsor for this year's shopping weekend, has designed a limited number of special-edition 2003 CLK 500 Coupes, to be on display at each of the 61 Saks Fifth Avenue stores. Fashion model Iman is this year's spokesperson.

The event will take place Sept. 18 – 21, 2002. Saks has raised over $6 million for local and national breast cancer charities since it created this shopping event in 1999. All of the money stays in the markets where it was raised, going to local breast cancer centers.
