SEGD Announces 2006 Design Award Winners

SEGD (the Society for Environmental Graphic Design), an international non-profit educational foundation, announces 32 outstanding designs to receive recognition in the highly competitive SEGD Design Awards Program, which recognizes excellence in environmental graphic design.  The winning designs were selected from 357 entries received from around the world, including entries from Australia, Canada, India, the Netherlands, Korea, New Zealand, Qatar, Thailand, and the US.

Steven Stamper of fd2s chaired the event; the jurors were Chris Calori, Calori & Vanden-Eynden/Design Consultants; Bill Hill, MetaDesign; Susan Lipka, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Isaac Marshal, Aldrich Pears Associates Ltd.; Jan Tribbey, Aveda (VM+SD Editorial Advisory Board member); and Kathy Wesselman, WPA, Inc.

SEGD is an international non-profit educational organization providing resources for design specialists in the field of environmental graphic design, architecture, and landscape, interior, and industrial design.  SEGD members are leading designers of directional and attraction sign systems, destination graphics, identity programs, exhibits, and themed environments.

Environmental Graphic Design embraces many design disciplines including graphic, architectural, interior, landscape, and industrial design, all concerned with the visual aspects of wayfinding, communicating identity and information, and shaping the idea of place.
