* Five Belk Inc. (Charlotte, N.C.) department stores will house spaces dedicated to Beautyspace (New York). Together, the two retailers “aim to redefine the in-store beauty experience by combining Beautyspace’s curated variety of brands with Belk’s easy-to-shop store environment,” the companies said in a news release. Belk stores at the following sites will host the shops: Columbiana Mall, Columbia, S.C.; Crabtree Valley Mall, Raleigh, N.C.; Haywood Mall, Greenville, S.C.; SouthPark Mall, Charlotte, N.C.; and The Summit, Birmingham, Ala.

* Easton (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and Dick’s Sporting Goods (Pittsburgh) are partnering to extend the limited-release “drop” strategy long used by sneaker brands to baseball and softball equipment. The inaugural shops-in-shops along those lines at select Dick’s House of Sports stores will feature the “Spring Break Collection,” which is focused on offering the best-performing bats.
