Sony and Comcast Corp will open the first jointly branded Sony-Comcast store, in the lower-level concourse of the Comcast Center in Philadelphia.

According to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the store, called Sony Style Comcast Labs, will showcase Sony’s high end products, such as super-thin TVs, and Comcast cable services, such as its fast Internet access.

Plans call for one store, but other locations could be added based on the success of this one, which will be located in Comcast's new corporate headquarters. “There will be a labs aspect of the store, so we can give our hometown a sneak peek of what's coming next,” says ceo Brian Roberts.

Sony operates more than 40 Style stores in the U.S., where customers can browse or use Sony's latest products, ask questions of the trained staff and make purchases. Comcast sells its services in 5000 retail stores, including Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Target locations.
