Staples (Framingham, Mass.) has announced that its stores will not be open this year on Thanksgiving Day. Instead, it will stay closed until 6 a.m. on Black Friday when it will reopen doors to shoppers. It will, however, offer online-only deals on the holiday.

This comes after the retailer has been open the last two years on Thanksgiving Day. In a statement, Staples President of North American Stores, Demos Parneros, said, “We want our customers and associates to enjoy Thanksgiving their own way.”

According to USA Today, Staples is the first major retailer to announce its holiday plans and hours for this year’s shopping season.
