MANAGEMENT CHANGES

The Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc. (Secaucus, N.J.) announced Susan Riley, executive vp for finance and administration, is leaving the company. Upon her departure, the apparel company is eliminating the position and hiring a chief financial officer. The new cfo will report directly to ceo Jane Elfers. John Taylor, vp-finance, will assume the position of interim principal financial officer. Bernard McCracken, vp-controller, will be interim principal accounting officer.

MSi Solid State Lighting (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) has appointed Daniel Stein as regional sales manager for the Western U.S. Stein will be headquartered in the company’s San Diego, Calif., office.

STORE OPENING

Levi’s has opened a new storefront at Levi's Plaza, 1155 Battery St., in San Francisco. The 2600-square-foot store sells the new Opening Ceremony chambray collection, in a setting complete with recycled-denim insulation, rustic wood shelves and cabin-like dressing rooms.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

Stephan Jaklitsch and Mark Gardner have joined together to rename Stephan Jaklitsch Architects as Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects (J/GA). The firm was establishment in 1998. As partner, Gardner, who joined the studio in 2004, will help guide the firm into new areas of work, including institutional work and product design.

Boston Retail (Medford, Mass.) has launched a redesigned website at www. bostonretail.com, with datasheets, brochures, installation instructions, a new blog and more.

American Marazzi Tile Inc., (Sunnyvale, Texas), the U.S. subsidiary of Marazzi Group (Sassuolo, Italy), has acquired six wholesale service centers from Interceramic Group. The centers are located in Phoenix; Anaheim and San Diego, Calif.; Denver; Las Vegas; and Salt Lake City, Utah, and will be transitioned within six months into Marazzi Tile & Stone wholesale service centers.

Lighting manufacturer and supplier Bulbrite (Moonachie, N.J.) celebrated its 40th anniversary last month.

The Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District (BID), Denver’s premier shopping and dining district, broke ground on the new improved design for Fillmore Plaza, which will enhance pedestrian, event and retail activity on that block. Upgraded features include special trees and landscaping, lighting, environmental graphics, street furniture and a central canopy-like shade structure.
