Target to Miss its Target

Retailer says June sales will be disappointing

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) has announced that June sales will be well below expectations.

The retailer said that demand was weak for electronics, shoes and children’s clothing. It had earlier forecast a sales increase of 5-7 percent over June 2003.

Target’s stock fell 4 percent following the announcement.
