Tesco Signs Deals with Fashion Brands

Dorothy Perkins, Burtons, Claire’s Accessories and others

Tesco (Cheshunt, England) is expanding the merchandise offerings within some of its supermarket stores. It has reached a deal with Arcadia (London) that will allow it to begin selling the Dorothy Perkins, Burtons and Evans brands in some stores. A separate agreement allows it to feature, among other brands, Claire’s Accessories (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) in stores.

The brands are slowly being rolled out to select Tesco stores. Currently, four Tesco stores are planning on featuring all the Dorothy Perkins, Burtons and Evans fashions. An additional store will carry Dorothy Perkins and Burtons. No information was available about the number of stores that will carry Claire’s Accessories.

The introduction of these brands is meant to complement the company’s own private-label brand, F&F, reports The Telegraph, and is intended to draw more customers into stores with non-food items.
