Krispy Kreme opens first British standalone unit

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has opened its first British standalone store. The new location, in Enfield, North London, follows the successful launch of a shop in Harrods department store last October.

The Enfield location is Krispy Kreme’s first to feature a full-sized “doughnut theater,” including the well-known picture window through which people can watch the entire doughnut-making process. In addition, the store’s interior design will highlight historical references to the 67-year old company, encompassing today’s modern elements and offering a warm, inviting environment.

Krispy Kreme plans to open a further 23 stores over the next five years in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
