The Sak

San Francisco

Situated on San Francisco's Grant Avenue, near the entrance to Chinatown, The Sak's flagship store is the retailer's first step in its consumer-focused expansion. San Francisco-based Gensler designed the 1450-sq.-ft. gallery-like space, which combines a custom-designed, high-capacity merchandising system with simple, clean fixturing by ALU (New York). The retailer's own brand of seasonal handbags and small leather goods, as well as new lines, such as soft travel luggage and the Saks Home Collection, are displayed on modular wood-and-steel fixtures.
