Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) announced it will begin closing some of its 24-hour stores for a few hours every night. This new strategy will affect close to 40 stores across the country and will allow associates more time for stocking and organization.

Bloomberg Business reports the move is a result of customer complaints of empty shelves and long lines at checkout.

Hours were already reduced at 24 non-closing stores this spring, and Walmart plans to implement the changes at more locations this year.
