West Elm (New York) announced it will be opening its first store in Wisconsin this summer. Slated to open June 4, the flagship will be located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward at 342 N. Water St.

According to a company press release, the 11,000-square-foot store will feature an assortment of seasonal merchandise for summer, as well as products by five Wisconsin-based artisans as part of the chain’s “LOCAL” initiative. These artisan-made wares will include embroidered flags, silk-screened goods, porcelain and ceramic planters, and decorated deer antlers.

One of the artisans, designer Kayla Tafoya of Be Timeless, will create an exclusive tote bag specifically for the opening that the first 300 shoppers will receive when they make a purchase of $50 or more.

“We are excited to be opening our first store in Wisconsin,” said Jim Brett, president, West Elm. “Milwaukee’s cultural energy and creative community align with who we are as a brand.”
