Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. (New York) is entering a period of growth, and is set to launch dozens of freestanding stores and in-store shops in the coming year.

The company expects to open 45 North American stores in 2015, as well as 15 free-standing stores in Japan. Michael Kors chairman and ceo John Idol says the company is also continuing to convert department store merchandising to shops-within-shops for accessories, footwear and women’s and men’s wear combined. The company ended its 2014 fiscal year with 1560 shops-within-shops worldwide, and plans to open 500 in fiscal 2,015, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
