Walt Disney Co. will work with real estate developers to build residential communities that include shops, dining, “beach parks” and other attractions, Reuters reports.

Disney park designers will develop the creative concepts for the communities, and employees will manage entertainment, activities and Disney programming through a community association, the article says. The company says the mixed-used developments will aim to expand the brand’s storytelling to “storyliving.”

The first community is slated for Rancho Mirage, CA. Called Cotino, it will include 1900 housing units including single-family homes and condos, plus shops and a beachfront hotel that surround a 24-acre lagoon.
