TJX Expands into Australia

Buys Trade Secrets chain

TJX Cos. (Framingham, Mass.), the company known for its discount chains like T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and Marshalls, has announced it will be expanding operations into Australia. The company currently operates a buying office in Australia, but has yet to open stores.

TJX also revealed they have singed an agreement to buy Trade Secret, an Australian apparel discount chain currently owned by Gazal Corp. Ltd. (Sydney, Australia).

Women’s Wear Daily reports the sale is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
