BCBG Lays Off 116 Employees

The company is cutting 116 jobs and may close stores

BCBG (Vernon, Calif.) will lay off 116 employees, effective May 11. This is in addition to the 123 people it laid off this past November and the 71 jobs it cut roughly a year ago. This round of layoffs will affect all departments.

The company declared bankruptcy last month, and the layoffs are part of the company’s bankruptcy restructuring. According to Apparel News, it is likely that the company will shutter most if not all of its 400 stores around the world, and instead focus on its e-commerce business.

Other companies that are interested in purchasing BCBG have until May 19 to enter bids, with an auction set for May 24.
